WOW! Offers TV Caller ID: Converged Services Move Mainstream

In a bid to differentiate itself in the market, WOW! Internet, Cable and Phone, a provider of bundled services in Illinois, Michigan and Chicago has announced the deployment of Integra 5's new TV Caller ID application.
 
With the new TV Caller ID application, the name and number of incoming calls are displayed right on a users TV screen before the phone even rings.
 
These new type of offerings help to bring triple play and other converged offering to the mainstream  faster by including features consumers demand and will find innovative.


 
Telephone users have come accustomed to having a caller ID option with their phone service to screen incoming calls before they are answered. By providing a solution that displays this information on the TV screen before the phone even rings, the advantages of a bundled service is even more recognized.
 
The service will be available from WOW! For a service fee of $2 monthly for those customers who subscriber to their digital and cable VoIP services.
 
Commenting on WOW's offerings, Meredith-Flynn Ripley said in a statement to the press, "its TV Caller ID deployment provides further evidence of a trend we're seeing across our business- the adoption of converged services by top service providers."
 
According to a news release, WOW! Deployed the i5 CSP (News - Alert) which makes it possible for service providers to utilize its network and standards-based distribution architecture for real-time delivery of converged communication and content across triple and quad play services.
 
The service also provides the ability access call logs and display features all from their TV remote.
