INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO, held since 1999, is the world’s largest and best-attended VoIP trade show.  Last October, TMC’s INTERNET TELEPHONY attracted over 7,000 buyers and sellers of IP telephony products and services.  For this upcoming January show, TMC projects total attendance to exceed 8,500.

“With VoIP adoption now mainstream, we are beginning to witness widespread adoption of IP telephony applications delivered over the IP network,” said Gordon Payne, vice president of marketing for Citrix. “Commercialized IP telephony applications are now being embraced due to the fact that they are delivering real business value. At Citrix, our goal is to further fuel the adoption of rich telephony applications with innovative solutions that use this converged network to make telephony applications easier to deploy and use, and provide new emergency communications capabilities. We are delighted to have the opportunity to share our insights at this largest gathering of VoIP professionals.”

A network business veteran on an international scale, Mr. Payne provides marketing and product leadership to Gateways Group, a newly formed division of Citrix. He focuses on identifying new market opportunities and creating winning business and product solutions for Citrix customers and partners. Mr. Payne joined Citrix in December of 2004 through the $50 million acquisition of Net6, Inc. With Net6, a Silicon Valley based start-up, he held the positions of both Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Financial Officer, establishing a strong position for the company leading up to the acquisition by Citrix Systems, Inc.

Previously with Nortel Networks he was vice president and general manager of the Call Center/CRM and Enterprise Wireless Business Units. In 17 years with Nortel, he worked in the Carrier Networks, Wireless Networks, and Enterprise Solutions lines of business in Canada, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Australia and the United States.

In addition to Gordon Payne’s appearance, INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO East 2006 features keynotes by Tom Ridge, CNBC anchor Ron Insana and executives from IBM, Cisco, AT&T, Aculab, General Motors, Digium, Avaya, Covad, Quintum, Nortel, Level 3, Netcentrex, Interactive Intelligence, Pingtel, AudioCodes and Expedient Systems.
