Integrated Research (News - Alert) announced that licenses that were issued for its VoIP management solution for Avaya (News - Alert) Aura Communication Manager known as Prognosis VoIP Monitor have crossed $5 million.

In a release Paul McNamara, head of Unified Communications (News - Alert) at Integrated Research, said, "The Prognosis VoIP Monitor community has embraced VoIP as the newest, most promising and most dynamic voice communications technology today. Prognosis (News - Alert) VoIP Monitor helps end users get the most out of this technology by managing its performance and voice quality as well as saving telecommunications' costs."

According to company sources Prognosis VoIP Monitor helps in managing and reporting on voice quality, availability and VoIP performance. It is also capable of providing configuration, status and metrics for service level measurement.

Using Prognosis VoIP, administrators will be able to identify and resolve issues and prevent VoIP service degradation or outages, added officials.

McNamara further explained that since the release of the Prognosis VoIP Monitor, positive feedback from customers has enabled the company to improve functionality besides also add new features and device support.

"This ensures we stay in lockstep with customers' needs and Avaya's product roadmap," McNamara emphasized.

Prognosis VoIP Monitor is available with every new Avaya Aura Communication Manager and every Avaya customer will benefit from 'out of the box' at-a-glance performance and in-depth diagnostic capabilities.

Also customers will be able to establish voice quality trends over time, and also optimize capacity to plan upgrades, reconfigurations and repairs.

Voice quality is measured in terms of milliseconds while considering user satisfaction and tolerance instead of seconds. Prognosis VoIP Monitor enables customers to easily monitor, measure and manage VoIP in real time in order to maintain the quality and enhance VoIP service delivery.

It is expected that this will help them be ready for the next phase of network convergence besides helping in the launch of Unified Communications solutions.

In September 2009 Technology Marketing Corporation announced the recipients of the 2009 INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Awards. Integrated Research's PROGNOSIS IP Telephony Manager was one among the 36 companies that were selected for their outstanding achievements in IP Communications solutions.
