Jabra has announced a new product in its Engage series of professional headsets. The Engage 55 is designed to enhance communications, and features DECT mobility and security with military-grade 256-bit encryption, as well as noise canceling technology.

The new Jabra headset offers a large wireless range of up to 490 feet, enabling maximum flexibility for professionals on the go. The Engage 55 features improved microphone performance to eliminate interference in multi-person meetings and conferences. It also offers hearing protection, a major benefit to workers who are on calls for multiple hours each day.

The new offering includes the Jabra SafeTone 2.0 speech level normalization technology, which enables users to adjust the volume level for incoming calls. The new headset also includes intelligent acoustic shock protection to reduce potentially harmful noise levels without impacting audio quality. The BalancedVoice technology ensures incoming sound is processed for better clarity without increasing the volume level.

Security is one of the most important features of the Jabra Engage 55, and DECT security level C ensures the connection between the wireless adapter and the headset is extra secure.

"Research clearly shows that security is an increasing factor for businesses when deciding on new call technology," said Anders Hvelplund, SVP of call-centric BU and global services at Jabra. "At the same time, safeguarding information exchange should not affect call quality, customer satisfaction, and staff productivity."

Additional features of the Jabra Engage 55 include a lightweight headset design with adaptable ear cups for comfort. Users may choose from stereo, mono and convertible wearing styles, and the solution is pre-paired out of the box. It offers a visible status light, which lets other people in the vicinity see if the user is on a call and doesn't want to be disturbed. The headset works with a variety of contact center and unified communications platforms, including MS Teams, Zoom, Cisco, Unify, Amazon Chime, Google Meet, Avaya, Unify and Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise.
