Voiceglo Changes Corporate Identity to tglo

Voiceglo, which along with Vonage is the subject of a patent dispute with Sprint Nextel, announced on Friday that it will change its name to “tglo” (pronounced Tee-Glow) and consolidate all of its Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) products under one corporate brand.

“Voiceglo has become a limiting name. Our products can handle any form of communications – not just voice,” tglo's President Ed Cespedes said in a prepared statement.

As evidence, tglo used the opportunity to spotlight the beta version of tglo Central Command (Centcomm), which is now available at its Web site: http://www.tglo.com. In addition to peer-to-peer calling, Centcomm’s capabilities include short messaging service, music, directories, conference calling, photo management, instant messaging and podcasting. And users can access all of these communications abilities from any device, including: mobile phones, home phones, desktop and laptop computers, the company said.

Going forward, the company’s GloPhone product will be known as the tglo phone. All of the company's other products and services will also be preceded with the tglo name in order to emphasize the convergence of all their functionality.

Cespedes continued, "We are very excited by the rapid growth we have experienced with the tglo phone. Voice is just one of many communications applications that we can deliver over our highly scaleable platform. It makes sense for our users to be able to handle all of their communications needs easily and in one product suite. The tglo Centcomm product delivers on the promise of converged communications."
