SIP-based software provider Ubiquity Software Corp. announced on Tuesday that it entered into a three-year agreement with AT&T Services Inc., a subsidiary of AT&T Inc.

The deal calls for Ubiquity to provide its Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) Application Servers for testing and possible use in delivering new, enhanced broadband services over an integrated VoIP network planned for AT&T customers.

AT&T's VoIP-based residential service plan CallVantage is offered at $29.99 per month including unlimited local and long distance calling in the U.S. and to Canada. The plan features call waiting, three-way calling, call forwarding, call logging, "Do Not Disturb," "Locate Me," "Voicemail with eFeatures," to listen to messages from any phone or PC and forward them to anyone on the Web; "Simple Reach Number, which enables AT&T CallVantage Service customers to add up to nine telephone numbers with area codes anywhere in the country where AT&T offers residential VoIP service; and "Personal Conferencing," to set up meetings with up to nine additional callers.

AT&T Inc. recently announced a new contract with Stockton, California-based Premier Community Credit Union, a financial services provider. The deal calls for AT&T to provide Network-based Virtual Private Network (NVPN) services, utilizing Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology, and support services to provide increased bandwidth and full maintenance support to Premier Community Credit Union's six branch locations.

The new services would improve network continuity and support advanced applications, resulting in overall improvements to customer service. Additionally, these services will provide amplified security and network redundancy, affording Premier Community Credit Union a secure environment for data transactions across its network.
