DigiLinea Builds Out Regional VoIP Network

Associate Editor

Many American residents have friends, relatives, and colleagues in Latin American markets. VoIP, as it has for international callers worldwide, is quickly becoming a means for communicating with these friends and family members inexpensively.

In most markets in Latin America, including Guatemala, the only way to legally provide VoIP services and telephone numbers is through acquiring local telecommunications licenses — thereby delivering to the U.S. Hispanic community an affordable calling plan that enables them to stay in touch.

DigiLinea is a VoIP infrastructure and service provider with a uniquely singular focus on the U.S. Hispanic and Latin American markets — it is the leading VoIP provider to the US Hispanic community.  It also is the only one with a legal means for connecting the U.S. Hispanic community with their home countries by means of a presence in those Latin American countries, where it holds local telecom licenses.  Its integration into these markets allows DigiLinea to offer local phone numbers to customers, thus presenting lower cost calling

To further its penetration into Latin America, the firm has applied for and been granted a telecommunications license to provide services and local telephone numbering in Guatemala.  With millions of Guatemalan immigrants in the U.S., DigiLinea’s stated mission — to provide VoIP products and services to U.S. Hispanic community —  integration into the Guatemalan market marks a key development because of the high volume of voice traffic.

The market represents roughly 1.5 billion minutes of international calling traffic and 11 percent of all outbound international calling from the U.S. to Latin America, a figure that growing steadily due to immigration patterns — all of which shows the importance of this market to DigiLinea’s directive.

Guatemalans throughout the world will soon be able to take advantage of the DigiLinea VoIP platform to save money on their calling to their friends and family back home.
