SmartVideo Delivers Video Using Optibase IPTV Streaming Platforms

Optibase, Ltd. announced that its IPTV (News - Alert) streaming platforms are enabling content management and delivery solutions provider SmartVideo to offer full motion TV to Verizon and Cingular (News - Alert) mobile subscribers in the US.

 

SmartVideo, based in Georgia, is using the Optibase MGW 5100 TV streaming platform to encode and transmit live video from satellite provider Crawford Communications over a dedicated network to their facilities. SmartVideo decodes the video using the Optibase MGW 200 decoders and transmits it to cell phones and other smart handheld devices using proprietary technology.

 

IPTV content offerings include news, weather, sports and children’s programming from ABC news, NBC Universal, Fox Sports, The Weather Channel and more. The company also broadcasts on-demand and download-and-play television content for Internet-connected video consumers throughout the world. SmartVideo proprietary technologies include a suite of television content management services for wireless telco carriers and content owners.

 

System design consultation, installation and training was provided to SmartVideo through WH Platts, an Optibase value added reseller with locations in Atlanta, GA and Charleston, SC.
