Sage, ASBDC Strategically Partner

By DAVID R. BUTCHER, Assistant Editor, Customer Interaction Solutions

Sage Software today announced a strategic partnership with the Association of Small Business Development Centers (ASBDC), a partnership contrived to align Sage Software’s certified consultants with small-business development centers (SBDCs) nationwide.

The strategic alignment will offer start-ups and growing businesses the management tools, training and support services for aiding in efficient business operations. The partnership also makes free 30-day trial CDs of Sage Software products, including ACT! by Sage contact and customer management and Peachtree by Sage accounting solutions, available for nearly 1,000 regional SBDCs, providing assistance to more than 1.3 million small-business entrepreneurs annually.

“Small business is the engine of economic growth,” said ASBDC President & CEO Don Wilson in a company statement. “Growth requires nurturing and coordinated management. By partnering with organizations [...] that have the management and operational needs of small businesses as [their] core focus, we significantly increase our ability to help lead SBDC clients to sustained success.”

Small businesses account for 99 percent of all United States businesses, according to ASBDC, and employ 53 percent of the private workforce to contribute more than half of the nation’s private gross domestic product.

Sage Software (formerly Best Software) is scheduled to conduct demonstrations of ACT! and Peachtree products at ASBDC’s 25th Annual Conference, Sep. 6-9, at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel in Maryland.
