SIP-based VoIP service provider deltathree Inc. announced this week that it will expand its presence in the Central, South American and Caribbean markets. The company inked partnerships within Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic regions that have led to an expansion of its global VoIP network.

"Our further expansion into Latin America and the Caribbean is a key step in leveraging the growing demand for VoIP services in the region," said deltathree's director of sales, Colin Blou. "Together with our established distribution partners, we are aggressively targeting new business opportunities and successfully leveraging the overwhelming interest in our VoIP offerings. Partner programs should not be complicated. Our focus is on making it easy for partners to work with deltathree and to maximize the revenue they derive from selling our products and services."

Deltathree made news earlier this month when it announced that its consumer VoIP offering, iConnectHere received the 2005 INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine Product of the Year Award. The product allows users to choose from any one of four monthly iConnectHere calling plans based on their calling needs. All plans include unlimited in-network calls; advanced calling features; selection of telephone numbers in the United States or Europe; unlimited inbound calls; and a set of minutes to make calls. iConnectHere customers can also make out-of-plan calls to any destination worldwide based on extremely low per-minute rates. All iConnectHere service plans provide customers a unified VoIP calling card as well as PC-to-Phone soft client capabilities at no additional cost.

"Each year INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine bestows its Product of the Year awards on companies that have demonstrated excellence in technological advancement and application refinements.  deltathree has demonstrated to the editors of INTERNET TELEPHONY that its products or services are committed to quality and innovation while addressing the real needs in the marketplace," said Rich Tehrani, group publisher and editor-in-chief of INTERNET TELEPHONY.
