AGN Networks Debuts New SIP Trunking Service

AGN Networks, a leading business-centric Internet telephony service provider, today debuted an OnDemandSIP trunking service that offers companies a revolutionary new way to connect their communication network to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN).

“Businesses are increasingly adopting Internet protocol (IP) telephony, but to date the powerful new capabilities the technology enables have started and ended with their own private network,” said Michael Hartley, AGN Networks spokesperson.  “Most organizations still use a fixed land line to connect to a carrier network, just as they did a decade ago.  With OnDemandSIP™, AGN Networks helps businesses break through that hurdle and get more out of their IP PBX by connecting to the PSTN over SIP IP trunks instead.”

The new business-class OnDemandSIP service uses Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) for call control and routing so businesses can have a single, standards-based IP connection to the PSTN.  The service can be set up in minutes and requires no special hardware.

Businesses begin to benefit immediately from reductions in communication costs since calls travel over the Internet.  Toll charges plummet, and most organizations realize a savings of 50 to 70 percent on inbound toll-free calls, international dialing and other voice services as well.

AGN Networks OnDemandSIP delivers powerful productivity features not available from traditional service providers that give businesses more flexibility in how they manage their network.   A free Web portal allows systems administrators to set up new toll-free and DID numbers in minutes, add new locations on the fly, easily route inbound numbers, and access comprehensive call detail records and accounting information.
OnDemandSIP features five layers of disaster recovery protection – significantly exceeding that available with legacy phone service.   Protection scenarios can be preconfigured to meet the needs of each company and can be changed in minutes as conditions warrant.

AGN Networks OnDemandSIP trunk services have been compliance-tested by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, N.J. for seamless interoperability with Avaya Communication Manager IP telephony software and the Avaya SIP Enablement Server.  AGN is among the first service providers in the industry to achieve Avaya SIP trunking compliance as a member of the Avaya DeveloperConnection program – an initiative to develop, market and sell third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company’s investment in its network.  Avaya is the leading global provider of IP telephony solutions.1
