mPhase Technologies has chosen NewFont Inc., as an authorized reseller of the company's IPTV (News - Alert) solution in the fast growing Indian market.

A recent report by Media Partners Asia Ltd shows that the Indian market for multichannel video (cable, DTH, IPTV) could grow from about 65 million in 2005 to 104 million by 2010 and 125 million by 2015. IPTV service revenue could therefore account for a $240 million share in an $8 billion Pay TV market over a decade

NewFont Inc. is experienced in representing U.S.-based companies to cable, telco and utility firms in the developing world, including India and elsewhere in Asia, North Africa and the Middle East. NewFont will help mPhase expand its reach into a new market for the company's TV+ System.

The mPhase TV + System is built around cluster architecture and offers several advantages to telecommunications providers, such as improved maintenance environment, with links to industry-standard operations support systems, including element management of IP traffic.

The system is compatible with industry standard services creation environments and offers a high degree of reliability to protect against network failover. Moreover, it offers unprecedented scalability, capable of growing to hundreds of thousands of users.

“The IPTV market is ready to take off and having NewFont on board to win business in a new market like India is a component of our growth strategy,” said Ronald Durando, mPhase's chief executive in the press release.
