Time Warner Telecom today announced it was tapped by Wisconsin-based Waukesha State Bank for the installation of a suite of voice and data services, including Ethernet Internet Services (EIS) for its 18 locations.

"Time Warner Telecom was the perfect choice for our communication needs as we continue to grow in Waukesha County," said the bank's vice president and operations manager Marynell Costa in a statement. "Time Warner Telecom's voice and data solutions have enhanced our ability to better manage communications between our headquarters location and our nine full service locations throughout the Waukesha County area. Metro Ethernet also gives us the capacity and scalability we require to deploy on-line banking, e-commerce and VoIP applications."

The telecom's Internet, voice and data services will support the financial institution's nine full-service branch locations as well as its headquarters communications requirements. Waukesha State Bank also inked a contract for a 10 Mbps point-to-point native LAN Ethernet connection between its data center and the Time Warner Telecom collocation site to support Waukesha State Bank's ongoing disaster recovery efforts. The services will also support the bank's banking, e-commerce, online bill pay, mortgages and teller transactions.

"Waukesha State Bank is one of many businesses that recognize the value of our Ethernet-based solutions," stated Jeff Lowney, vice president and general manager for Time Warner Telecom in Milwaukee. "Waukesha State Bank can easily scale these services to meet their growing critical data communications needs. In addition, our SONET-protected network provides for business continuity and significant disaster recovery capabilities."

Time Warner made news back in June when it announced it was tapped by The Quilt, an education organization, to be its CIS project preferred provider of network services. The Quilt provides for communication capabilities for regional network organizations and others dedicated to advancing research and education in the United States, such as higher learning institutions and research universities.

Time Warner Telecom will provide The Quilt participants with peering, number and location of public and private peering points, availability of advanced services and backbone and support services. Time Warner Telecom's national footprint will be able to provide service to more than half of The Quilt member cities.
