Motorola's Executive VP Garriques Resigns

TMCnet Contributing Editor

Technology manufacturing giant Motorola (News - Alert) announced on Friday that its executive vice president and president of the company's Mobile Devices business Ron Garriques has resigned to his post.

The company has delegated all of Garriques’ responsibilities between Ray Roman, who currently serves as the company's senior vice president, global sales, and Terry Vega—senior vice president, global devices. Both executives will serve as interim co-heads of the Mobile Devices business.

Today's news comes on the heels of Motorola's announcement earlier this month about its Canadian division teaming up with Vonage (News - Alert) Canada to now offer the Motorola VT2142 phone adapter and router. The device comes already configured with the Vonage phone service, so Vonage subscribers can use it to connect their PCs to a high-speed Internet connection to access computing and phone services.

The VT2142 can be used to connect up to two Vonage lines through a high-speed connection and includes a networking router. The device is currently available online for free after an $89.99 instant rebate.
