VoIP retail provider VoX Communications announced Monday that it inked a partnership with Canadian broadband service provider Guinepp. Via the partnership, Guinepp agreed to private-label VoX VoIP services under its CityvoiceTEL Brand to complement its existing high-speed Internet services, which include DSL and cable, as well as its new Broadband over Power Line (BPL) offering.

Guinepp is amongst a handful of providers currently marketing BPL services in North America to deliver high-speed Internet, video and VoIP telephone services in a triple-play offering. Guinepp's BPL technology is currently available in areas of Canada and in Central and South Florida. According to Guinepp, its BPL uses existing electrical distribution lines and coaxial infrastructures to create a network that reaches more people and places fast and at a low cost.

"VoX has proved time and time again that they've got their act together," commented Guinepp's CTO and VP Business Development Roy Dell (News - Alert) in a statement. "We tested the product with various BPL customers and they couldn't believe they were using a VoIP service—all have said that they will sign up for the offering. We even tested VoX with a point-to-point wireless network and experienced exceptional quality. VoX has demonstrated quality and service capabilities that we could not find from other VoIP providers."

The new partnership will also enable Guinepp to will market its broadband, VoIP and video services through resellers or distributors and through its own CityvoiceTEL retail stores. The company will open three new CityvoiceTEL stores in Florida and three in Toronto.

"Guinepp is making disruptive technologies like BPL a reality," said Mark Richards, VoX's president. "The combined offering pushes the envelope on service delivery, convenience and economics. We look forward to a strong collaborative partnership."

VoX made news just last month when it announced that it inked a new Master Agent agreement with 7 Point, which will now allow its dealers to offer VoX services to their business and residential customers nationwide.

With more than 80 dealers nationwide, 7 Point provides businesses with telecom hardware, interconnect services and wireless voice and data systems. 7 Point is also a National Master Dealer for Sprint (News - Alert)/Nextel Wireless Services.
