Comcast Celebrates Opening of Second Call Center in Connecticut

While outsourced customer care operations have proven themselves effective and efficient for meeting some company's needs, others looking to maximize on their customers experiences are turning ship and heading home to establish their call center operations.


 
Comcast (News - Alert) Corporation, provider of cable, entertainment and communications products and services and serving 24.2 million cable customers, 12.1 million high-speed Internet customers, and 3.0 million voice customers, is one company who has turned back to the States for their call center needs.
 
Today the company celebrated the grand opening of its second call center in 'The Nutmeg State'. The 77,000 square foot facility located in Enfield, Connecticut will employ more than 200 customer service representatives who will assist Comcast in meeting growing customer demands for their offerings. Particularly, the availability of their Digital Voice phone service throughout the state.
 
Along with this availability, customers are also finding it hard to resist the Triple Play bundle featuring Digital Cable with ON DEMAND, Comcast High-Speed Internet and Comcast Digital Voice available all on one bill, with one customer point of contact and one installation process—further increasing convenience and helping to strengthen customer experiences.
 
Doug Guthrie, Vice President for Comcast's Connecticut-Western Massachusetts Region commented in a statement, "Comcast's recipe for success starts with delivering a top-notch customer experience, and that includes locating our call centers in and around communities where our customers live and work."
 
Other than the two call centers in Connecticut, Comcast also operates an additional six call centers in New England.
 
Connecticut Governor M. Jodi Rell and other state and local officials celebrated the opening of the new Comcast Call Center today and noted increased business and employment rates as a result. With more than 1,100 individuals employed by Comcast in Connecticut, Guthrie noted that the new facility has the potential to add up to approximately 350 new positions as their business grows.
