TMW Systems Intros New Fleet Maintenance Software

TMCnet Contributing Editor

TMW Systems, a North American developer of enterprise management software designed for the transportation services industry, has introduced TMT Fleet Maintenance for Windows Version 9.

The application is offered by the TMW Asset Maintenance Software business unit, previously known as TMT Software, located in Durham, North Carolina. The solution helps companies performing fleet and equipment maintenance and repair operations to improve efficiency, collaborate and electronically communicate with vendors, suppliers, and original equipment vendors (OEMs).

TMT Fleet Maintenance for Windows Version 9 extends the automation of the entire fleet maintenance and repair function while still interfacing to leading accounting software and includes electronic GL coding-to-inventory capabilities. For more transparency to operational costs, a new feature presents company management with a comprehensive accounting of vehicle maintenance and repair with the ability to drill down into costs--even for a single piece of equipment--throughout an entire vehicle lifecycle.

TMT Fleet Maintenance for Windows V9 enhances the ability of independent, retail service centers to compete more favorably with dealerships by adding support for multi-company fleet unit designations, packaged pricing, and job code and task-based pricing.

The new Customer Inquiry System (CIS) enables Web-based, self-service capabilities for repair center customers, including the ability to look up repair information for their fleets while allowing service centers to push information such as recalls, notifications, and sales and marketing campaigns to their customers via the Internet.

"This release has the capability to integrate a fleet maintenance operation with an entire business and service provider 'ecosystem' to automate workflow processes and the capture and delivery of information within and beyond the shop environment,” said Scott Vanselous, TMW senior vice president and general manager. “This integrated approach drives efficiencies in the complex and critical fleet maintenance process and helps companies more accurately measure and control the true costs to operate their assets."

TMW Systems is recognized in the industry for robust software solutions designed for firms involved in the transportation services sector. The 25-year-old company acquired the Asset Maintenance Software operations last year from TMT Software, extending its customer base to include ready-mix cement fleets, construction fleets, municipalities, waste haulers, and school districts.
