ETK: Three Extensions of CBOSS IT Solution in Two Years

CBOSS (News - Alert) Corporation has carried out another extension of ETK’s solution. Now the CBOSSbcc-based system can service up to 2.5 mln subscribers.

ETK JSC is the leading mobile network operator of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Taymyr Autonomous Okrug, and the Republic of Khakassia. ETK holds control over half the market and is steadily ahead of the federal operators in the number of subscribers in the region.

“We have extended ETK’s hardware and software solution three times within the last two years,” says Kirill Agevnin, CBOSS CEO. “Before starting the third extension project, the operator has managed to attract over 500 thousand new subscribers in less than a year! We are proud to see that our innovations and experience contribute to ETK’s skyrocketing”.

CBOSSbcc supplies the mobile operator with a rich variety of commercial offers to fit any groups of prospective subscribers. Flexible and universal solution core allows for a whisk growth of the subscriber base and fast yet smooth extensions.

ETK’s development benefits greatly from the principle of 3D Convergence (News - Alert) intrinsic in CBOSS solutions. One of the convergence dimensions is compliance, allowing to use a single IT solution to service subscribers in several telecommunications standards (??? supports GSM and CDMA2000 1x). This precludes problems related to technical platforms integration, financial flow control, and ensures optimal TCO.

Owing to multi-standard support in the employed IT solution, ETK actively promotes 3G services, making the subscriber base grow as more users sign up for hi-tech services. The company provides next generation services under the brand WELLCOM using EV-DO technology in IMT_MC 450 network (CDMA2000 1x). This standard supports 2.4 Mbps Internet access, which is 20-30 times faster than GPRS. Besides, it is planned to introduce zone-based fixed-line services and start providing FMC services in 2009.

Currently, ??? employs a set of CBOSS products to automate such business processes as convergent billing, VAS, interaction with dealers and partners, monitoring, network management, data analysis and reporting.

According to Vladimir Kostuk, IT Director at ETK, “In our aspiration to keep the leading role on the market, we cannot afford a moment’s pause in keeping pace with technical innovations, nor can we let our offers lose their attractiveness. This is why we’ve been using CBOSS solutions over 10 years, opting for their unique functionality and reliability, knowing that they ensure prompt development of new services and due quality of service to our subscribers, no matter how large in number they are.”

Yeniseytelecom, CJSC (ETK) is the largest mobile network operator of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Taymyr Autonomous Okrug, and the Republic of Khakassia. The company provides GSM 900/1800 services. In Krasnoyarsk Krai, Yeniseytelecom provides IMT-MC 450 (CDMA2000 1x) services under the WELLCOM brand. Yeniseytelecom owns 99.72% of Altaisvyaz, JSC (a cellular company in Altai Krai and Altai Republic with 43,000 subscribers) and 99% of STeK GSM (a cellular company in Kemerovo Oblast serving over 91,000 subscribers).

The total subscriber base of the company is more than 2 million subscribers. Since March 1, 2006 Yeniseytelecom has been operating under the ETK brand. According to the research and analysis firm Sotovik, Yeniseytelecom is one of Russia's top ten largest telecommunications companies. Yeniseytelecom is fully-owned by Sibirtelecom, JSC, the largest telecommunications company of Siberia.

CBOSS is a transnational corporation and one of the world leaders in the development of innovative convergent IT solutions for end-to-end automation of telecommunications companies, delivering a competitive edge to telecoms across the globe.

CBOSS Corporation offers the full range of equipment, system and application software and professional services, including consulting, turnkey implementation, technical support, staff training and IT outsourcing, providing telcos with guaranteed operations quality while minimizing operational and capital expenditures.
