Embraer Picks MAK's 3D Visualization Solution to Support Aircraft Operation Program

Aircraft manufacturer Embraer has deployed MAK’s 3D visualization solution, VR-Vantage as part of their Mission Planning Station and Mission Debriefing Station to support pilots on the Super Tucano aircraft operation program.

The Mission Planning Station uses the 3D visuals to practice planned missions and to check inter-visibility between aircraft and from aircraft and other entities. The MDS (Mission Debriefing Station) employs real aircraft data to playback missions for review and analysis.

VR-Vantage is MÄK’s new 3D visual solution which fits into users’ simulation system, the way they work, and within their budgetary constraint. This new version of VR-Vantage continues to offer customers more value in their 3D visualization software with new features, performance optimizations, and more integrated content.

The new VR-Vantage 1.1 also marks the release of SensorFX, an add-on module to VR-Vantage from JRM Technologies. Along with the support for the new sensor capability, the latest release of VR-Vantage includes visualization of tactical graphics, including route, waypoints, and height cues and also support for Linux operating systems.

VR-Vantage is comprised of two applications: one is the MÄK Stealth which is a 3D information station for the virtual battlefield. The MÄK Stealth provides data about the user’ networked virtual world and presents it in a clear and accessible way whenever the user is in need for situational awareness, simulation debugging or after action review.

The second one is the Vantage IG which is the configurable desktop image generator for those who need an out-the-window scene or a view from a remote camera. Vantage IG is designed for easy integration into desktop trainers and war gaming simulations.

Officials with Embraer have stated that by adopting the 3D MÄK solution, the capacity of the Planning and Debriefing Stations to support the Super Tucano aircraft operation has been increased, providing greater visibility of the scenario surroundings and resulting in an increased situational awareness.

Warren KATZ, CEO of VT MÄK, has said that they are delighted that their strategic customer, Embraer has chosen VR-Vantage. Despite a crowded field of competitors, Embraer’s purchase validates VR-Vantage’s value proposition. Clearly customers are seeing the value in all the pre-integrated components and content, as well as the product’s Terrain Agility that finally addresses the chronic terrain database generation and correlation problem.
