Tech Source (News - Alert), a supplier of embedded video graphics and high-end computing solutions, claimed its newly released low power Condor VC 100x H.264 video capture and compression card can seamlessly overcome the video challenges involved in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and in other surveillance, image detection and video recording applications.

The video capture card is capable of supporting up to four video inputs and an API is used to select various input formats like NTSC, PAL, SECAM, HD, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI and more. The card does H.264 encoding in hardware, minimizing CPU usage, capturing video data stored in files which can be made available to customer applications for processing, analysis or display on a local graphics card.
Condor VC 100x also has two stereo or four mono audio inputs.

"This card has been designed for use in UAVs and for other mission critical video streaming applications that require low power and yet high profile H.264 compression in a compact, lightweight form factor," remarked Selwyn L. Henriques, president and CEO at Tech Source.
Notable features of the Condor VC 100x are: H.264/AVC baseline, main or high profile up to L4.1; XMC form factor; two channels up to 1080p30 or four channels of TV (composite); interlaced video support; data Streaming over TCP/IP; and convection/conduction cooled.
The Condor VC 100x is available in various ruggedized models, all of which support Windows/Linux-based single board computers along with VME, ATCA, cPCI platforms with optional support for VxWorks, Integrity and LynxOS on both X86 and PowerPC platforms.
The company added that the Condor VC 100x along with other products will be demonstrated at AUVSI's Unmanned Systems, to be held in Las Vegas, August 6 - 9, 2012.
