VideoPropulsion Unveils Transcoding and Mobile Streaming Appliances
VideoPropulsion recently introduced ground-breaking transcoding technology and transcoder appliances, thereby extending its best-in-class series of FloodGate HDTV hospitality headend systems. The transcoding technology, which is capable of supporting a maximum of 24 streams of MPEG transcoding on one PCIe card, is ideal for OEM applications that are powered by Zenverge ZN2000 content networking ICs. The fixed-price transcoder appliances have been launched for hospitality and other vertical markets and applications.
The latest transcoding and mobile streaming solutions can advantageously utilize the sturdy transrating and transcaling capabilities of the ZN2000 for incorporating with VideoPropulsion's FloodGate. Alternatively, the mobile streaming
solutions can be installed in a standalone Mobile Video HotSpot or MVHS. The MVHS can therefore competently offer linear digital television programming across any multiple dwelling unit wireless networks to a broad array of multiscreen devices.
In a release
, Carl Pick, chairman and CEO, VideoPropulsion said, 'FloodGate provides hospitality guests with an unmatched quality of experience. Adding Zenverge ZN2000 technology to our Mobile Video HotSpot solution allows consumers to extend their viewing experience beyond the confines of their room to other areas of the hotel, such as restaurants, meeting rooms and exercise facilities so they don't miss a single minute of an important sporting event or favorite TV show. Guests sharing a room are not limited to watching only a single program on a traditional television screen. They can now access multiple high-quality video streams on a variety of mobile devices
The MVHS utilizes a wireless Wi-Fi network infrastructure for providing real-time streaming television channels to hospitality environments like hotel lobbies, restaurants, bars, pools and meeting rooms.
According to Shawn Saleem, EVP of marketing and strategic planning at Zenverge, numerous features and advantages of the company's quad stream ZN2000 content networking IC can be demonstrated by VideoPropulsion's FloodGate.
Lee McKenna, VP of marketing, VideoPropulsion said, 'The Zenverge content networking IC allows us to seamlessly transcode any MPEG to any MPEG. Thanks to the flexibility offered by the ZN2000, we have dramatically increased the density of our transcoding solutions, lowered manufacturing costs, and reduced inventory by employing the same assembly for playing out MPEG-4 satellite streams on TVs as we use to stream high-quality video content to mobile devices.'
