Recently, Apriva announced that MEI's Easitrax Advance 5000 telemeter is fully supported in its Apriva Vend cashless vending service.

Apriva Vend's comprehensive, flexible cashless vending solution improves wireless payment processing and allows owners and operators to take payments securely and profitably from virtually any location.

The company provides a fully managed, end-to-end solution that integrates hardware, software and network services, management tools and support.

The MEI Easitrax Advance 5000 is safe, and is in the process of achieving PCI (News - Alert) certification and is a state-of-the-art hardware solution that supports 2G, 3G and CDMA wireless networks, as well as fixed-line communications.

Its separate transaction and telemetry communication paths provide the integrity of every card payment.

Also, the modular design of the device provides easy installation in most vending machines.

Apriva Vend allows operators to inexpensively leverage the various advantages of cashless technologies, which consists of more revenue, wider margins, lower operating costs and greater profitability.

"The MEI Advanced 5000 device enables Apriva to serve customers through a variety of wireless networks, including 2G and 3G infrastructures," said Rinaldo Spinella, executive vice president and general manager of Apriva's unattended payments solutions. "This flexibility is extremely critical as wireless carriers look to shift some of their resources from 2G to 3G or CDMA technologies. Through this hardware, Apriva will be able to deliver uninterrupted service to the many Apriva Vend customers who leverage wireless technology to deliver cashless vending options to consumers."

The company also recently announced that its wireless point-of-sale (POS) gateway provided more than $2.06 billion in wireless payment transactions in the second quarter of 2012. According to the company, this is a gain of 16.8 percent over the same period in 2011.

Witnessing the company processing $1.86 billion in wireless transactions, the figure immediately follows Apriva's strong first quarter performance.
