AllPeers Adds Social BitTorrent to Firefox(R)PRAGUE, Czech Republic & OXFORD, England --(Business Wire)-- AllPeers today announced that it has added new capabilities to its flagship product to support standard BitTorrent downloads directly inside the Firefox web browser. With this new release, AllPeers becomes a Social BitTorrent client, making it far simpler to share and recommend torrents to friends. Designed to make downloading easier and faster, AllPeers does not require any previous knowledge of dealing with torrent files. Until now, use of the BitTorrent protocol has required searching on obscure websites. Downloading files meant choosing one of a number of complex client applications intended specifically for this purpose. AllPeers makes downloading torrent files as easy as normal web downloads: just click on a link and the download starts, right inside your browser. The social features let users share torrent files using the encrypted AllPeers network, directly with their existing AllPeers contacts or by sending files to any email address. "But until now the very use of this technology limited the size of their potential audience. The combination of Firefox, AllPeers and BitTorrent means that content producers will be able to reach new non-technical audiences. BitTorrent already accounts for over 40 percent of all Internet traffic and boasts over 35 million users. AllPeers adds about one new user every two minutes. By combining these two communities, both public and private sharing of content is possible with the same easy-to-use interface. "It's easier to find interesting content, since your friends probably know your tastes pretty well. And you can also download a torrent file up to twice as fast using AllPeers if a friend shares it with you, since you get it from your friend and the torrent simultaneously."
