Samsung Electronics and Avaya Inc. have completed interoperability testing and will deliver integrated data, voice and security solutions, products and services targeted to mid-sized enterprises.

The companies have created an intelligent business solution for mid-sized enterprises by combining Samsung’s (News - Alert) Ubigate iBG and the Avaya (News - Alert) Session Initiation Protocol (News - Alert) (SIP)-based IP telephony infrastructure.

By integrating security, LAN switching, WAN routing and PSTN access from Samsung with Avaya MultiVantage communication applications, the solution maximizes employee efficiency and improves customer response times and business processes.

Integrating the Ubigate IBG platform with Avaya SIP Enablement Services and Avaya Communication Manager software is designed to enable both companies to deliver high-value, converged communications solutions tailored for mid-sized enterprises.

Samsung’s Ubigate IBG platform has been integrated with Avaya SIP Enablement Services and Avaya Communication Manager Software. This enables both companies to deliver high-value, converged communications solutions tailored for mid-sized enterprises.

Implementation of Ubigate iBG series combined with Avaya SIP Enablement Services and Avaya Communications Manager telephony software will allow businesses to gain competitive advantage and keep costs under control.

Ubigate iBG combined with SIP Enablement Services and Avaya MultiVantage Express can be deployed by companies to gain mobility and messaging applications and deliver a simple and secure high performance solution to the mid-market.

“This is a perfect example of how synergy can be realized-by combining the strengths of two companies,” said Woon Sub Kim, executive vice president of Samsung’s Telecommunications Network Business in a press release.

He continued, “The Ubigate iBG Series and MultiVantage Express solution provide excellent value to mid-sized customers. Samsung also intends to introduce additional products and capabilities that target small and medium businesses and branch offices of mid-to-large enterprises.”

Initially Samsung will launch Ubigate iBG3026 that will be sold by Avaya as a co-branded offering targeted to mid-sized businesses. The Ubigate iBG Series’ single unit design allows more simplified network administration and therefore reduces the total cost of ownership.

In future both companies have planned solutions for the mid-market. Avaya and Samsung will market and sell the joint solutions initially in Korea, China and India and later expand distribution to other countries.

Avaya recently signed a distributor agreement with Digital China to develop and market IP telephony and contact center solutions targeted at the growing mid-sized market in China.

Both the companies will jointly provide mid-sized companies based in China with end-to-end access to the full range of market leading Intelligent Communications products and services.
